Cigar Resources

Many good cigar information sources exist on and off the web. Below is a compilation of some of those resources accompanied by short descriptions.

MAGAZINES

European Cigar Cult Journal (ECCJ)
Europe’s foremost cigar magazine, the ECCJ reports in great depth about the global cigar market. Its in-depth reporting on both Habanos and non-Cuban cigars has earned it tremendous esteem in the cigar industry. It is distributed globally. Most subscribers are in Europe and the United States. Subscriptions are available at the magazine’s webpage: www.cigar-cult.com. With a broad network of correspondents across the globe, this magazine provides the most comprehensive coverage of the global cigar market.
*full-disclosure: I regularly write for the ECCJ as the London Correspondent

Cigar Snob, Florida’s
Based in Florida, one of the most vibrant cigar communities in the world, this regional magazine has carved out a niche for itself amongst connoisseurs. Beautiful women are featured throughout the magazine but all topics cigar are debated and discussed in its pages. By closely working with cigar industry insiders, this magazine has found a way to stay ahead of the curve with useful and entertaining articles.
*full-disclosure: On occasion I contribute to this magazine

Cigar Magazine
Originally produced in 2004, this magazine focuses on cigars and cigar consumers. Its content is focused on the products and industry and uniquely, its reviews are done by its readers. Regular contributors give very interesting perspectives including ‘Our Man From Havana,’ Simon Chase who gives opinions about Habanos in this US based magazine.

SMOKE Magazine
One of the older cigar magazines, SMOKE is a cigar smoker’s lifestyle magazine. It contains reviews and articles on cigar news amidst articles on other topics of interest to cigar smokers. Articles will often profile celebrities, chefs/restaurants, and products for the ‘good life.’

Cigar Aficionado
This is the cigar magazine with the highest number of subscribers. It has high quality cigar content but is a men’s lifestyle magazine rather than strictly a cigar magazine. Its correspondents and editors are highly knowledgeable and the magazine has achieved iconic status in the cigar industry.

Cigar Press
First released in 2007, this magazine caters to the “next generation” cigar consumer by interviewing industry leaders and following trends and news. Its focus lies in cigar content more than lifestyle articles.
